While teaching at Annie's Needle Art Festival in December 2014, the instructor had the chance to see and visit with many old and new friends. Twice while traveling in the car, Whitney Houston's song came on the radio, and Jackie started thinking of how lucky we are to live in this moment of time—there is no place she would rather be than stitching at the festival with her friends. She started thinking of how different we all are, just like the different stitches we so love to work. We come together at these special times to inspire and share our work; the love for stitching is our common thread.
This project will celebrate us as needle-art women. The project will be a linen drawstring workbag with four stitched linen pockets. Tiny stitches of silk purple, green and yellow hues will be worked using specialty stitches to form dainty sprigs of flowers that will decorate the four linen pockets. The entire workbag will be stitched and assembled by hand. Accompanying the 3" x 5" workbag will be a dainty needlebook with pockets for special needles, a tool holder and a scissors sheath with minder.
Photos will be updated as instructor completes the project.
