Happy June! Can you believe it? We're nearly halfway through 2014, and it feels like it just started! My garden is growing like crazy, which is awesome, but it's pulling me away from my stitching, which is not as great. I'm constantly on the lookout for small, quick-to-stitch projects, and I am eagerly awaiting (like many of you!) the 2014 Christmas Ornaments issue of Just CrossStitch to fulfill that need to stitch small projects.
Sometimes those small projects need a little extra bling or pizzazz. For some, that extra something is accomplished by using unique finishing options. For others, it's worked in with the use of impeccably selected over-dyed threads. Another way to make your project special is by adding beads or buttons for the added dimension and umph. I was asked by a stitcher recently about adding beads to a project, so I thought we'd tackle that in this newsletter. It's a really simple process, but it's one that can seem daunting and unapproachable. Fear not, I've got you covered!
I'm hearing from so many of you as we journey through the specialty stitches, and I thank you all for taking the time to write. Please continue to write in and tell me what stitches you would like for us to cover next. My trusty doodle cloth has a lot more space on it, and I'm just as excited as you are to continue to work on my stitching skills. So, without further delay, let's take a look at this week's stitch -- adding beads.
